OpenAI is a better better choice than Meta for sure for openclaw.
Most wonderful is OpenClaw will continue as an open-source project in a foundation supported by OpenAI.
And OpenAI with Peter doing agents using openclaw will make 2026 super interesting for improvements in AI, agents, and framework.
Can’t wait to see the evolution of AI agents from now.
It’s already hard to keep up with current openclaw progress and what the openclaw open source community is doing.
Openclaw will get even better, more features, better security, fast.

Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Grok, Meta all face increasingly tough competitions from free/cheaper open source models, most from China, which are not just getting better are but are saturating the coding tests. They are very good now and will only get better.
Besides improving the models themselves, improving the
Agents Capabilities in
- in memory,
- framework,
- multi agents,
- security
- personality,
- emotional intelligence etc
will be key ways they can differentiate themselves.
Openclaw demostrates that you can begin to do that externally in agents harness, files etc and not necessarily in the models itself.
Therefore agents can improve rapidly in more than 1 dimention.
