Travel from Barcelona to Valencia Alfafar Spain
Started ride late after 12pm as wanted to set off then realised i had not downloaded the Google offline map for today . Paused to eat a chocolate Cheerio as the Map download at the café wifi. Since I’m next to the Gaudi church , decided to see it again before I go. Sunday is super crowded with lots of local groups.
The 4+ hour ride today was glorious. It was sunny, dry n cool. Also the roads from Barcelona to Valencia are 2 or 3 lane highways. sometimes with speed limits ok 70-90, 100 or 120. Roads are mainly quite flat but winding slightly around the countryside. Roads are not straight. Which is good for riding. One the map the highway seems close to the coast but there are previous few spots when you can see the sea, and only as you drive as there are no places to stop and admire the sea from the highways . The 100km closest to Barcelona are full of suburbs with nice properties. Then there was a long stretch of roads with mainly wild conifer forest. 150 km from Valencia there are farmland and some nice hills in the background.
I enjoy this weather most for driving n riding bike , the temp ranges from 15 -24 C. It’s cool enough to ride with a jacket n not too hot . I can use my open finger gloves , which lets me quickly reach my credit card for tolls , and control Google map and also start/stop the handlebar camera easily.
Toll from Barcelona to Valencia on 2 toll point was 8€+
Thanks . Valencia looks interesting . Not planning to stay longer in Valencia this trip . Will ride across Spain towards Lisboa
