Visited Nazare lighthouse , rode from Nazare to Lisbon . Stayed 2 nights at Nazare to relax in beach town , n recover more from cold/caugh.
Checked our Nazare hotel at 12pm as wanted to relax in nice hotel. Nazare hotel privia. €90/night include bf n garage.
Rode 15 mins to town area in top of cliff to see the beautiful court square n Park there 700m from light house. Bike was safe in open car park. Decided to cover bike as extra protection. It was super windy at Nazare lighthouse area even now in May . Lots of Portugal and European tourists there . Most tourists are in their 60s with a few youngsters. Very few Asian, which is normal in this trip n ok for me . The path down from Nazare top town to light house is a walk that near the exposed light house is super windy. As you approach the lighthouse , the wind was so strong that it was difficult to walk straight. Also a few sea gulls were flying with effort , just gliding in the wind without flapping their wings . Cool 😎 the lighthouse itself was an attraction with €2 entry fee. Worth paying to see the views n also the mini surf n geography exhibit on site. One can pay to talk a jeep/tuk tuk ride 600m to the lighthouse. Feeling good I decided to walk down n up. Perhaps in a future trip taking a ride up is a good idea to save effort . Recovered by having a hot chocolate drink in town Center. There were 2 nice restaurants on top n several open eating places with great views , but did not eat as I had a heavy bf .
Nazare beach is amazing. 100 foot waves in winter 🥶 and super windy even now in May. At some points on the highway where there are wind socks, the wind socks were flying parallel to the road 😅
Started riding from Nazare to Lisbon about 2:30pm. Ride was fantastic on the 2-3 lanes toll highway . 1:20 ride excluding stop time. Ride was one winding highway over hilly countryside. With a few nice views without stopping along the way .
One challenge was a bee sting on my ride Hand while riding back to Lisbon. Hand was swollen. Great to see that next morning it’s better. Due to the sting, cold & cough I rested a more in room and got lots of rest.
Lisbon russio where I am has lots of people n lots of attractions to see. There are a few beggars and others peddling at russio square but I ignored them all and stayed safe.
Staying 2 nights at Lisbon to rest ,sightsee before the flight home .
